Melissa Jalali
Bio
Melissa Jalali has always been interested in the little things in life, the small moments in daily life that can knock you off your feet. A look, a gesture, a sigh that tells a whole story.
As an actress, she leans into these moments. Melissa is drawn to challenging
roles; playing women who may not have it all figured out. She is
constantly inspired by the struggle of life and how people learn to cope and
even transcend what life has given them.
“I live for spontaneity, which is perfect because the life of an actor is
always changing and never predictable.” Melissa has taken on such
inspiring roles such as Cinderella in the Kansas theatre scene, acted in the The Laramie Project Off-Off Broadway production in New York,
and has been featured in national commercials.
She has been lucky
enough to go through some of the best training in the business on both coasts,
receiving a degree in Theatre from the University of Southern California and
studying at the Atlantic Theater and the amazing SITI Company founded by Anne
Bogart in New York City.
Melissa remembers the moment when she fell in love with cinema; she was fifteen
years old and stumbled into a screening of The Graduate. When she saw that final moment between
Dustin Hoffman and Katharine Ross in the back of the bus, she was blown away.
She saw real life unfold; messy, complicated and beautiful. Melissa hopes
to have that same impact on her audiences.
